The most dangerous animal in the world

Giant gorillas, hungry lions, wide-jawed sharks, and venomous snakes…

Are probably popping in your mind rn.

But what if I told you…

That none of the above is the most dangerous animal in the world?

They all pale in comparison to the #1.

Let me explain:

Around 60 years ago… (Exactly in 1963)

A kid named Jimmy went to visit the Bronx Zoo with his family.

He saw Monkeys throwing shit at each other, eating bananas…

(I wish I was a monkey)

A hungry lion devouring a human-sized meal in milliseconds…

Poisonous snakes whose bite would kill you in a heartbeat…

And all kinds of weird-looking animals.

You’re probably thinking:

What does this have to do with me, Pol?

Well…

What our friend Jimmy saw at the Bronx Zoo that day will leave you thinking, to say the least.

Because as he got close to the enormous exit gates, an eerie-looking cage caught his eye.

All dark and gloomy, like an abandoned place.

And as Jimmy approached it, with much hesitation…

He couldn’t believe what was written on top of it.

Capital, bold letters enunciated: 

“THE MOST DANGEROUS ANIMAL IN THE WORLD”.

Our innocent friend gasped, thinking he’d be in trouble.

But a child’s curiosity is not easy to soothe…

As he got on his tippy toes, and peeked to check the inside…

He was surprised to see, in pitch black, an empty cage.

Only it wasn’t empty.

You could only see…

A reflection of yourself.

The original text under the exhibit read:

“You are looking at the most dangerous animal in the world. It alone of all the animals that ever lived can exterminate (and has) entire species of animals. Now it has the power to wipe out all life on earth.”

(Yes, this is a true story)

Now, I’m not here to get all environmentalist and shit…

I’m here to teach you a lesson.

I’m here to remind you that YOU, as a human being, possess a potential out of our comprehension…

And you still decide to waste it scrolling through pointless social media posts.
